Day 29: Nature

Whoa, feeling a bit worn. My first thought was, am I going to do this again today? Ummm..well of course I am going to, but this was a tough morning. Almost 300 miles in two days, I suppose I should have expected this, right?!

Stretched again this morning before hitting the road. Made sure we ate a really big breakfast and hoped for another 100 miles depending on how we were feeling. Again today was lots of trees, mountains, and lakes to be seen. All so beautiful of course. It may sound boring, but honestly it seems to never get old because it is so beautiful and peaceful.

We took a break about 35 miles in today. There was a rest stop that went down its own short path that dead ended into a river. WOW! I was in awe! It was the most gorgeous stop we had made thus far in my opinion. The river was flowing, the sun was shining, mountains in the distant, and the area was surrounded with trees. I think even Aurora loved the spot. She loved putting her feet into the river, drinking from the river, and we took her on a nice walk around the area. We made some tuna fish sandwiches here and gave Aurora tuna as well. And for the first time ever, we saw Aurora pick up her empty tuna can and walk with it. It was so cute! We had her walk with it to the trash to dispose of it since she wanted to hold it. Such a good girl.

The rest was nice. Took about 45 minutes there before getting back on the bikes. We were fed and the energy was coming back. So a peddling we went!

I wish there was more to report of this day, but there really wasn’t too much action or things to see besides the scenery. We did start to slow down around mile 60, so we did make the decision to stop before 100 miles. 80 miles to be specific. We found a nice small campground called Kinaskan Lake Provincial Park. It had beautiful lake views. It was nice to have a shorter day today. We made a fire, made some smores, and actually had ample time to relax before bed. This short day was definitely needed. Until tomorrow.
