Day 20: Short, but needed

So after almost hitting another 100 mile ride from the night before, we were looking forward to a short ride and some rest down the road 22 miles from where we stopped for the evening. 22 miles meant Destruction Bay where we could relax the bodies, get a good meal, and finish up video #3 (reaching Canada).

So we packed up our things, dressed for the weather and hit the road.

We got to stop at Burwash Landing which was super educational. They had a museum basically of the area and it’s past. June 12, 1999 horrible wild fires passed through the area and created lots of destruction. They had remnants of some of the trees still there and pictures of the fires. So sad to see the effect of the fires on this land.

After reading about the fires and tinkering around in the gift shop talking to the worker in there, we got on our bikes for another 10-15 miles to Destruction Bay.  Easy peasy.

When we got there our intentions were to set up the tent near the water, but we got tempted by a motel room there since there was laundromat and restaurant attached to the motel. Oh and how can I forget a warm room with showers. Ahhhhh. So we invested in a room, put some laundry in, ate lunch, then went to the room to finish up computer business for the evening. Unfortunately the WiFi wasn’t very good so we were unable to upload the video I finished tonight. So we are hoping our next stop we will be able to do that first thing when we arrive tomorrow in Haines Junction 66 or so miles away. So good rest we shall get tonight and hopefully feel refreshed for the morning! Sweet dreams
